Moscow banned the transit of American birds Russia has not allowed the transit of live birds and poultry products from the United States. Similar measures aimed at protecting the country from bird flu raging in America.

The Rosselkhoznadzor said that Russia from June 10 temporarily stops the movement of live birds, poultry products and hatching eggs from the United States through the terrain of power. The Department explained that similar measures related to avian influenza epidemic in America.

The Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported that, according to official data of the International epidemiological Bureau, areas of 17 States of the United States registered more than 157 foci of infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza. The number of killed and dead birds, according to reliable information of the Department of agriculture of the United States, reached 33.3 million goals and continues to grow.

With all of this in the Rosselkhoznadzor said that, taking into account the existing risk, the Agency has to take supplementary measures aimed at protecting the nation from this dangerous disease. "In this regard, from 10 June 2015 pauses the movement of live poultry, poultry products and eggs, in addition to SPF-eggs from the United States through the territory of Russia", - told in Department of public relations of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The Department stressed that Russia had previously taken steps to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases. According to the data of the Rosselkhoznadzor, from 5 December 2014 were briefly introduced restrictions on import into the country of meat and offal of poultry from the United States. In addition, under the ban came finished products from poultry meat. With all this, from 26 may 2015 were introduced a short-term limitation on deliveries to the Russian Federation from America live poultry and hatching eggs.
