USC: punishment did not affect the construction of military ships for India
Punishment of the West against Russia did not affect the construction of ships for the Indian Navy, India and Russia discuss a number of promising projects in shipbuilding, said on Thursday the Director of the division of military-technical cooperation of the United shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Alex Wild.

"In no way those penalties that have been applied to us, did not affect our cooperation with India," said Wild on international military-technical forum " Army-2015 ".

He added that in addition to existing contracts, Russia and India discuss a number of promising projects in the field of shipbuilding.

According to Wild, the Authorized Ministry of defence of India highly praised the ships and submarines of the Russian production, which already are in service of the Indian Navy.

Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated in connection with the situation in Ukraine. At the end of July 2014, the EU and the US imposed penalties against a number of sectors of the Russian economy. In response, Russia restricted imports of food items from countries that have entered against her punishment: USA, EU, Canada, Australia and Norway. The G7 leaders following the meeting, 7-8 June this year confirmed that the issue of extending sanctions against Russia before the end of 2015 will be considered by the European Council in June.
