The OSCE permanent Council extended the observation mission of the OSCE border checkpoints "Gukovo" and "Donetsk" for 3 months until 30 September 2015, according to a press release from the organization.
"The mandate of the OSCE observation mission at the checkpoints "Gukovo" and "Donetsk" is extended for 3 months until 30 September 2015 in accordance with the decision taken yesterday by all 57 members of the organization, " according to a press release.
The OSCE mission on the Russian border "Donetsk" and "Gukovo" now consists of 20 people, 18 of them observers. Its headquarters is located in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov region.
This Mission, acting at the invitation of the Russian Federation, has an independent Mandate and operates separately from the Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine.
