Putin in St. Petersburg meeting with former French Prime Minister Fillon
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the last working day of the week on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF) met with former Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon.

Putin has actively cooperated with Fillon at that moment, when he headed the Government of the Russian Federation. Now Fillon is one of the contenders for the presidency and wants to participate in the elections to be held in France in 2017.

first assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov told reporters that during the meeting " will discuss how the Russian-French relations and the situation in the EU and in the world in the context of the Ukrainian fall ".

Fillon takes an active part in the work of the forum and have had the opportunity to ask a few questions to Putin, for example, about the situation in Ukraine in the process of the plenary session.
