Poroshenko: depriving Yanukovych of the title of the President unconstitutional
The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko submitted a representation to the constitutional court of Ukraine, in which asks to recognise as unconstitutional the law On the deprivation of Viktor Yanukovych honorary title of President.

yesterday, the law came into force. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in February passed a law which provides for the deprivation of Yanukovych honorary title of President.

"I beg to acknowledge the law of Ukraine" On the removal of Viktor Yanukovych the title of President of Ukraine " dated 4 February 2015 such that there corresponds to the Constitution of Ukraine (is unconstitutional) ", - reported in the constitutional representation Poroshenko, published on the Internet office of the constitutional court.

Poroshenko's claim that the law violates the constitutional provision According to which the title of the President of Ukraine is protected by legislative act and is kept for him forever, if only the head had not been removed from office via impeachment. In addition, according to Poroshenko, the law, the constitutionality of which is challenged, has no normative character. According to his statement, by enacting this law, the Parliament functioned despite the provisions of the Constitution, " which requires the Parliament to act on the basis, within powers and the method provided for by the Constitution ". According to the report on the Internet office of the constitutional court, the representation Poroshenko is placed before the court.

Yanukovych was deposed as President of Ukraine in February 2014 after the coup. The Verkhovna Rada ousted him from power, changed the Constitution and called early presidential elections, the results of which became the new President Poroshenko. The impeachment regarding Yanukovych was not carried out.
