Venice Commission: Kyiv must finalize the draft decentralization
The Venice Commission (an Advisory body of the Council of Europe on constitutional law) has concluded that filed by Ukraine of the constitutional amendments on decentralization of power in General " worthy of support ", at the same time noting the need for their revision.

the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in March this year signed the order about creation of the constitutional Commission, which will develop changes to the Main law of the country. in a release sent to the hands of Fins news the conclusion of the Commission noted that " the proposed amendments to the Constitution imply a process of decentralization of state power in a manner that is consistent with the General standards of the European Charter of local self-government ". The Commission stresses that " these amendments are well written and deserve support."

The Venice Commission welcomes the abolition of the Supervisory powers of the Prosecutor General ". She emphasizes that " also deserves support article on local financing."

in addition, the Commission recommended amending the provision on dismissal of the prefect by the President on the advice of the Cabinet.

in addition, the Commission considers it necessary to add a provision about the fact that certain categories of administrative territorial units are able to only be created through the development of a special law.
