The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law, which allows registered religious organizations can be founders of educational institutions, said the press service of the head of the country on Thursday.

The relevant law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 2 June.

According to the law, religious organizations that are registered in an order established by legislation, have the opportunity to be founders (owners) of higher, vocational, secondary and nursery schools. The changes include primary schools, where permitted activities of religious organizations provided that they are the founders of this preschool institution.

"This law provides the constitutional right of believing parents or persons in Loco parentis, the education of their children According to their own religious beliefs," explained the press service of the President.
