Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that the Donbass until not ready to hold local elections envisaged by the Minsk agreements before the end of the year.

Adopted February 12, the contact group of the Complex of measures on implementation of the Minsk agreements envisages that in "certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions" local elections, the preparation of which Kiev is obliged to carry out in coordination with authorized these areas.

"We are not so far away (in the implementation of the Minsk agreements - ed.) to conduct envisaged by the Minsk agreements local elections this year. It is expected many more to make, and among them that has not been done yet at all. I can only say, no matter what elections are currently not prepared, this election is not mean the Minsk agreement, and they do not have the ability to replace them, " said Steinmeier at a press conference in Berlin on the last working day of the week.

however, Ukraine will be held on 25 October local elections, and the Head of the self-proclaimed DND Alexander Zakharchenko on Thursday said that within the self-proclaimed Republic elections of heads of cities and districts of the Republic will be held on October 18.
