UN: about 1, 3 million people in Donbass are experiencing problems with water
About 1, 3 million people in Eastern Ukraine are experiencing serious water problems, according to a press release from the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), posted Tuesday on the organization.

"Water is one of the key needs of children and adults in the East of Ukraine. About 1, 3 million people in conflict-affected areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions are experiencing problems with obtaining safe drinking water, " said Commissioner UNICEF in Ukraine Giovanna Barberis (Giovanna Barberis).

According to Barberis, starting from January this year, UNICEF together with partners has helped 550 thousand people to access safe water in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. However, she clarified that in order to solve the existing problem requires a greater number of " humanitarian partners."

The Ukrainian authorities began in April last year in the Donbass military operation against dissatisfied with the coup d'etat of residents of the region.
