The contract for delivery of 2 helicopter carrier on the similarity of the "Mistral" was signed between the French DCNS/STX and the "Rosoboronexport" in 2011. Aft of the helicopter were built at the Baltic shipyard, which is part of the United shipbuilding company, in St. Petersburg.
