The General Prosecutor Prosecutors will strengthen supervision at the checkpoints on the Russian border to the food embargo, said on the first day of the week 1st Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman.

Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated in connection with the situation in Ukraine. At the end of July, the EU and the US from point penalties against private individuals and organizations have moved to the measures against entire sectors of Russia's economy. In response, Russia restricted imports of food items from countries that have entered against her punishment: USA, EU, Canada, Australia and Norway.

"in the conditions of the embargo on certain items and the import substitution policy of the transport prosecutors, together with the customs authorities should implement a package of measures to strengthen surveillance at checkpoints," said Buksman at the Board office, the results of the work in the first half of 2015.

He also emphasized the fact that there remains an imposing debt on payment of customs duties and penalties - 43 billion rubles at the beginning of the semester and ordered prosecutors to systematically conduct audits and penalties.
