Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman signed, the Parliament adopted the Law on local elections and gave it to the President Peter Poroshenko. Proper letter appeared on the Internet representation of the Parliament on Tuesday.

Local elections are scheduled in Ukraine on October 25. Parliament first passed a Law that defines the rules for local elections. Now the oblast, city and district councils will be elected by proportional representation with the so-called open lists, and the election of people's deputies of village and settlement councils - the majority system of relative majority. In the election will not be eligible blocks of political parties, the electoral threshold for parties increased from 3% to 5%.
