The Prosecutor has directed to court eleven indictments on the events on the Maidan
The chief Prosecutor's office of Ukraine sent to the court of eleven indictments about 23 people in the investigation of events that occurred in the process of "euromaidan" in Ukraine in 2014, said the Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

"From February 10 (2015) present by investigators of the General Prosecutor's office of Ukraine is aimed to the court eleven indictments against 23 persons in criminal proceedings on the counter protest actions," said Shokin at a press conference on Tuesday.

He said that throughout Ukraine aims to court 50 such indictment. In addition, the attorney General clarified that the letter brought about suspicion 149 persons on the same charge.

General Kievan square - Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence square) - was occupied by supporters of European integration on November 21, 2013, immediately after the announcement of the government of Mykola Azarov about temporary suspension of the signing of the Treaty on the Union With the EU. Later, the Maidan became the epicenter of the confrontation between the security forces and radicals. The clashes, during which opposing political force many times used firearms and " Molotov cocktails ", were dozens of casualties. Against this background, at the end of February 2014 in Ukraine there was a coup.
