The draft law on establishing the status of veterans of the great Patriotic war, residents of the besieged Sevastopol (from November 1941 to July 1942) submitted to the state Duma.

The amendment was prepared by the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol.

the bill proposed to establish the status of veterans of the great Patriotic war, persons living within the city of Sevastopol in the period from November 5, 1941 to 4 July 1942 ( "the people of the besieged Sevastopol" ).

The authors explain that as long as the Crimea was part of Ukraine, residents of besieged Sevastopol was given the status of war veterans, as well as provided appropriate to the specified state benefits and guarantees.
