The German had led the national team of Russia on biathlon Four-time favorite Olympic biathlon Rico gross joined the coaching staff of the men's team of Russia. Contract famous German athlete with the Russian biathlon Union (RBU) is calculated up to the end of the season-2017/18.

According to the official website of RBU, gross in conjunction with the Russian expert Vladimir Bragin will work with a group of athletes who are preparing for the world Cup 2015/16. Earlier, nine-time favorite of the world gross categorically refused to become the senior coach of the ladies ' national team of Ukraine, and soon the President of the Russian biathlon Union Alexander Kravtsov approved that the Union sees the German as one of the contenders for the post of coach of the Russian men's team.

"Certainly, my long-term goal is the preparation of the Russian team for the Olympics in Korea in 2018. We must go step by step towards this goal, we need to become better and realize their own potential. I am convinced that the Olympic games in Pyeongchang can be good for us. In Russian national team a number of strong athletes," declared gross immediately after his appointment.

"We have a very strong men's team. My goal is to make it even stronger. We are going to work hard in order to achieve excellent results. It is a great challenge for me. Previously I worked in Germany, and now, in Russia, the first time I'm going to work as the senior coach of the team that would imply the freedom of taking certain decisions and appropriate responsibility," said gross.

Note that the transaction between the gross and the Ukrainian Federation fell through at the last moment. "Ricco gross we will not be working, I learned from him yesterday. He wrote to me that circumstances have changed. I think he had the best proposal," stated the President of the biathlon Federation of Ukraine Volodymyr Brynzak.

Remember, earlier Russia already worked biathlon expert from Germany - Wolfgang Pichler. He left the national women's team after the completion of the 2013-14 season. The work of the German expert was taken in early April 2011, however high results under his leadership, women have not achieved. At the Olympics in Sochi, the Russians won two silver awards.
