Double Olympic champion Sebastian CoE was elected President of the IAAF

CoE announced its intention to apply for the position of head of the IAAF in November 2014. He noted the need to revise the calendar of the season, the improvement of the formats of the competition, noted the importance of developing partnership programs with universities and expressed the intention to restructure the internal apparatus of the IAAF. Also CoE had suggested that tighter work with sponsors to increase the prize funds of the competition, the structure of distribution which did not undergo significant changes since 1997.

One way of strengthening measures to fight doping CoE was called to study the experience of other international federations. In addition, He proposed to establish procedures for an Independent Tribunal dealing with doping violations specifically during competitions. CoE headed the organizing Committee of the Games of 2012 in London.

The previous President of the IAAF was the Senegalese Lamine Diack, who has headed the organization since 1999.
