The head of the Investigative Department (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin on Thursday held a meeting on combating violations of the rights of civilians in the South-East of Ukraine in the course of armed conflict, told reporters the official representative of Department Vladimir Markin.

"at the meeting were presented the results of work of Department for investigation of criminal cases about the crimes connected with application of prohibited means and methods of warfare, GSU SK of Russia ", - said Markin.

the meeting was attended by the heads of the CID, members of the Public Council under the RF IC, the head of the Interregional public organization "Famous generals and admirals of the Fatherland" Alexander Sukharev and others.

Markin has told that during the meeting discussed the tasks of the SC commissioners and the public in the protection of human rights and civil interests of the inhabitants of the South-East of Ukraine, violated as a result of armed conflict, also attract the attention of the world community and international human rights organisations to the implications of the Ukrainian tragedy.

The Ukrainian authorities in April last year began military action against the self-proclaimed LNR and DND. According to the summary data of the UN, the victims of the conflict began more than 6, 8 thousand people. The settlement of the situation in the Donbass is discussed, as well as among them, during meetings in Minsk contact group, which since September of last year already took 3 of the document governing the steps to de-escalate the conflict.
