Russian energy Minister Alexander Novak declared that Moscow is ready to give Kiev a discount on gas in the fourth quarter of 2015. But it is not yet known, will return for Ukraine to such a request.

Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Moscow is ready to meet Kiev and to consider the question of granting of discounts on gas, informs TASS. "We absolutely understand the situation: the Ukrainian side has simply no living cash, in order to pre-pay for gas. Our side has all the conditions that Ukraine bought and supplied the fix domestic gas. In 4th quarter of 2015 the domestic side is also ready to ensure the realization of the gas taking into account the discount. The only caveat would be if the Ukrainian side to contact us with this request," explained the head of Department.

Novak said that before the heating season Ukraine lacks 4.5 billion cubic meters of blue fuel. But, according to the Minister, Kiev is not turned to Moscow with a proposal to advance the transit of domestic gas. The Minister reminded that Ukraine gets gas from Slovakia at a cost in excess of the proposed RF. "$ 20-30 per thousand cubic meters," he said.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on 3 September announced that the underground gas storages of power accumulated 14.5 billion cubic meters of gas, but not enough to get through the heating season. Agreement by which the national government provided gas to Ukraine at a discount, ends on 30 September.
