The Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: Kiev violates human rights on access to drinking water
Moscow drew the attention of the Council of the United Nations on human rights to the actions of the Ukrainian authorities that violate human rights to drinking water and sanitation, according to a letter from the Russian delegation, announced at the ongoing Geneva on 30-th session of the HRC.

Authorized by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation made in the process of interactive dialogue with the special Rapporteur on the issue About the human rights implications of environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes and the special Rapporteur on the problem Of safe drinking water and sanitation.

The delegation of the Russian Federation said the preparedness of the special Rapporteur on safe drinking water to detect the deterioration of access to safe drinking water and sanitation for economic or political reasons. In this regard, urged Moscow to " pay Close attention to the incident with the overlapping authorities of Ukraine the North-Crimean canal, which makes the population of the Peninsula facing serious water shortages ".

Russian employees of the foreign Ministry also reminded of the thematic report of the Special OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine " On access to water in conflict-affected areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions ", which discussed in detail the actions of the Kiev authorities that violate the human right to access to safe drinking water.

The Ukrainian authorities in April last year began military action against the self-proclaimed LNR and DND.
