Scientists have uncovered a floor in the Church of the former Florentine convent of St. Ursula, where they found the remains of 12 people.

The analysis showed that 11 of them lived earlier than Lisa Gherardini, and just bones in one of the graves belonged to the middle of the sixteenth century, the time when she died. The body remained bad - just completely escaped the thigh and Shin bones, skulls same could not be traced.

"We can't say with absolute certainty that the remains we have examined, belong to the Mona Lisa, however the probability of this is extremely great", - quotes TASS of the historian Silvano vincheti, thanks to whose initiative and the burial was opened in the monastery. "We wanted to find a skull and recreate the face. However we were doomed to fail, nothing can be done", - said the doctor of anthropology of the University of Bologna Giorgio Gruppioni.

Later it was also opened a crypt of the family of Gherardini, where, as known, were buried, the children of the Mona Lisa. However caught in the graves of the bone has been badly damaged by floods in 1966. Their condition does not allow for a DNA analysis and compare the results with the DNA found in the remains of the Church. Scientists hope that in the future there will be DNA analysis techniques that allow to accurately answer the question, are discovered in the burial of bones are the remains of the legendary Mona Lisa.
