Luzhkov fed buckwheat sailors Former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov turned farmer, wants to put its own products to the Navy of the Russian Federation. He is convinced that his enterprise in the Kaliningrad region will have enough power to cover the needs of seafarers in buckwheat.

The former mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov was engaged in farming. He owns an agricultural business in Kaliningrad region, which is engaged in the cultivation of grain, rape, horse breeding and sheep breeding. But most of all, Luzhkov likes to talk about buckwheat.

Them grown buckwheat was exported to the Baltic States, but upon application of the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Nikolay Tsukanov was decided to purchase equipment for grain processing and sales of finished cereals within the region. Now the former mayor hopes to expand the market, even with the help of the Navy.

"According to our estimates, the full need will be somewhere in the region of 4 to 4 and a half tons, and our production completely is that the number of buckwheat to process", - TASS quoted Luzhkov. However the mariners will get from the rump of the former mayor only if he will be able to meet the demands of the field.

"At the moment we get somewhere around 5 - 7 tons of buckwheat per day. This is enough to ensure our retail outlets, where buckwheat is already being implemented," - said Luzhkov. However, the full capacity will allow to process up to one ton of buckwheat per hour or up to 8 thousand tons of cereals per year. "Such quantity of buckwheat of the Kaliningrad region is simply not necessary," he found the former mayor.

And yet the supply of buckwheat abroad and even outside the region are not planned - the primary goal becomes to satisfy the region, and only then beginning the process of expanding markets. "Our common goal is to create a system in which the Kaliningrad region will grow and realize its own buckwheat on social cost", - said Luzhkov.

Kaliningrad region is the only region of the northwestern Federal district, growing buckwheat on an industrial scale. To the best knowledge of Luzhkov, his company provides over thirty percent of the harvest of buckwheat in the region, the growth of agricultural production continues, and soon it will be possible to start deliveries of s-Petersburg, Karelia, Murmansk and other regions.
