Skype has launched an online translator speech Firm Microsoft has decided to launch a simultaneous translation service for Skype. The program will allow virtually real-time to translate it during the interview.

As informs the tech blog The Verge, the service will be initially available for 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish. However in projects to expand that number. Written text translation will be fulfilled in 50 languages.

Researchers, engineers and other Microsoft employees worked hard to make this dream a reality. Skype Translator uses the technology of speech recognition and automatic translation, it is based on the cloud service of Microsoft Translator. The study took more than 10 years. The main specificity of Skype Translator - self-training program: the more this development is used, the smarter it becomes.

A year earlier, Microsoft released Skype translator as a standalone app for Windows 8. Now this feature is available for users of desktop versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. A test version could only translate from English to Spanish and Vice versa.
