The head of the Supreme Council of Transnistria Mikhail Burla nourishes the hope that the Russian senators will participate in missions of observers at the forthcoming November 29 parliamentary elections in the Republic.

"cooperation with Russia in the most different spheres for us extremely important. Transnistria now as never before require legislative experience of the Russian Federation and the exchange of information on parliamentary lines, " said Burla on the first day of the week at the meeting with the Chairman of the Department of the Federation Council international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

during the conversation the participants discussed political and economic situation in Pridnestrovie in the context of the upcoming elections in the Republic.

"the Federation Council is carefully monitoring the events in Transnistria and is ready as opportunities to further assist in addressing the existing residents of the Republic social and humanitarian issues," - said Kosachev.

Transnistria, 60% of the inhabitants are Russians and Ukrainians, sought to secede from Moldova even before the destruction of the USSR, fearing that on the wave of nationalism Moldova will join Romania. In 1992, after the failed attempt of the authorities of Moldova force to solve the problem, Transnistria was in fact not controlled by the Chisinau area.
