Domestic aircraft company (RAC) "MiG" may terminate service of the MiG-29 air force of Bulgaria, if she will sign an agreement with Poland on the repair of aircraft engines RD-33. This was announced by CEO Sergei Korotkov, reports "Interfax".

"In case of signing the Bulgarian party to the agreement with Poland about the repair of engines RD-33 installed on the MiGs, we'll have no other choice besides how to renounce the support and maintenance of the technical exploitation of the MiG-29 of the Bulgarian air force" - said Korotkov.

He stressed that the company reserves the right to challenge the lawfulness of the forthcoming agreement "in view of the undisputed violations of our rights as the Creator and manufacturer of the aircraft".

Korotkov noted that a similar agreement is taken from political considerations and, as he admits, under pressure, will call into question the lawfulness of the further use of these aircraft, the safety of lives of pilots. He stressed that the attempts of companies to find a mutually beneficial solution are ignored Sofia, despite the fact that the financial terms of the transaction, the proposed "Moment", more profitable Polish proposals.

"Price performance proposed by Polish and Russian sides on repair of the engines, practically identical - the difference is purely symbolic. For the money paid Russia was prepared to guarantee Bulgaria twice as much resource, if Poland," explained he, adding that Poland didn't receive the license and updated technical documentation to perform repairs on the engines of the aircraft produced by Russian aircraft Corporation MiG.

The MiG-29 were received by Bulgaria in 1989-1990. All of the USSR was transferred to 18 MiG-29 (1 crashed in 1994) and 4 combat training MiG-29UB (1 crashed in 2012). At the moment, according to various estimates, the Bulgarian air force have up to 15 machines capable of both types. In 2006 RAC "MiG" signed a contract on maintenance and modernization of aircraft MiG-29, which was carried out in 2009.
