Ukraine is interested to develop cooperation with Turkmenistan in the gas sphere. In Kyiv until now remember that until 2003 Ukraine received natural gas from Turkmenistan. Then, in Accordance with intergovernmental agreements, Gazprom ensured transit of Turkmen gas through the territory of the Russian Federation to Ukraine. The situation changed in April 2003, when between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan signed an agreement on cooperation in the gas industry for twenty five years. As a result, Ukraine has lost direct supplies of Turkmen gas and started to get in practice all the desired gas from Gazprom. Now, the delivery of Turkmen gas to Ukraine is possible only through the GTS of Russia.
