The leader of the Communist party of Ukraine Petro Symonenko said that the withdrawal of the international Advisory group of the Council of Europe on the events of may 2 in Odessa confirms the fact that the responsibility for the tragedy lies with the Ukrainian government.

on Wednesday, the Advisory group of the Council of Europe presented its own report on the tragedy on 2 may 2014 in Odessa. After analyzing the proceedings by the Ukrainian authorities of those events, the Commission considers that the investigators failed to make significant progress. It was noted the insufficient level of independence of the investigation, taking into account the availability of evidence of belonging of employees of militia to the incident, and that the shortcomings in the investigation undermined the ability of the Ukrainian authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice. It was also noted that the Ukrainian proceedings of the conflict did not correspond to the European agreement on human rights (ECHR).
