Scientists have released the kangaroo from liability for the pollution of the planet Swiss researchers analyzed the meteorism the kangaroo and concluded that the size of these animals produce the greenhouse gas methane actually less than that created by sheep and cattle. This was reported in an article published in the journal of Experimental Biology.

During the study, researchers kept a giant red kangaroo (Macropus rufus) and a great kangaroo (Macropus giganteus) in small rooms and made the measurement gas in the course of a week. They learned that small level of gases produced by animals is explained by rapid digestion. Therefore, the studies put paid to the theory that the microflora of the intestinal tract of animals the kangaroo is fundamentally different from the microflora of cattle and sheep.

Scientists have suggested that transplantation of microflora in the intestinal tract of the kangaroo the sheep and the big cattle will help to reduce gas pollution. Emissions of methane from animals are a serious threat to the surrounding environment: 1 milch cow, the population of which in the world reaches half a billion goals a day produces up to 200 liters of methane.

Flatulence (bloating the result of excessive accumulation of gases in it) is associated with the activity of microbes that live in the stomach and intestinal tract and produces gases (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and some sulfur compounds).
