The OSCE mission in the Rostov region was headed by the new chief
Yulia Nasulina. A Swiss citizen Simon Eugster headed the OSCE mission in the Rostov region, succeeding Frenchman Paul Picard, informs the government of the Rostov region.

The OSCE mission working at checkpoints "Gukovo" and "Donetsk" in the Rostov region since the end of July last year. It consists of 19 observers. The term of the current mandate expires on 31 January 2016.

On Tuesday, the two envoy of the OSCE met with the Deputy Governor of the region Vadim Artemov, having discussed the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border checkpoints "Gukovo" and " Donetsk ".

As said Eugster, the primary motivation his works are in the Rostov region is to be personally indifferent to what is happening in Ukraine and Donbass for example." I am very sorry for all people trapped within the hostilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. But our mission is very limited - it's monitoring, and its motto is two words: transparency and impartiality ", - quoted his words.

The Ukrainian authorities began in April last year in the Donbass military action against dissatisfied with the coup d'etat inhabitants of the region. According to the final data of the UN, the victims of the conflict began more than 8 thousand people. The next meeting of the contact group in Minsk on 12 February ended with the adoption of a complex of measures on execution of the Minsk agreements, involving, for example, the ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons and the development of the security zone.

The first of September in the Donbass entered into force another truce, both parties and observers state that it is observed. At the end of September was signed the agreement about the withdrawal of weapons with a caliber of not more than 100 millimeters and tanks from the frontline. This process took place in 2 stages in Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
