NASA showcased new images of Pluto NASA has demonstrated a new image of Pluto, which the Agency called a psychedelic. It is composed of the images produced by the station's New Horizons and allows you to track features of the surface of the dwarf planet. About it it is told on the website of NASA.

Images were obtained on July 14 2015 scientific instrument Ralph / MVIC from a distance of 35 million miles from Pluto. The image was first presented to the public on November 9 in the process of the 47th annual meeting of the planetary division of the American astronomical society's team in Maryland.

In the process of migrating the mission station New Horizons July 14, 2015 as close to the dwarf planet. Today it is located at a distance of more than 5 billion km from Earth. In 2019 it should reach the 2014 MU69 planetoid in the Kuiper belt (1.6 billion km from Pluto). The New Horizons mission should be completed in the mid 2020-ies.

The main problem of New Horizons - a study of Pluto and its satellite Charon. Scientific equipment installed at the station, created to collect data on the possible presence of the magnetosphere of the dwarf planet, the composition of its atmosphere, the structure plane, as well as on the interaction with Charon.
