Unidentified equipped with weapons citizens threatened to shoot at the observers of the Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE in Ukraine, When they drove up to the village of yuryevka 26 kilometres South-West of Lugansk, said in the regular report of the MSF, distributed on the first day of the weekend.

During previous visits to the Yuryevka SMM has recorded 12 towed howitzers, placed there in violation of the Treaty about the withdrawal of weapons.

on the first day of the weekend the four observer missions and combat medic on 2 armoured cars went to the location of the howitzers. At a distance of 100-150 meters SMM noticed three armed men standing very close to one of the howitzers. When the cars came close to 80-100 meters, one of the armed men fired into the air, another sent his gun to observers, then uninstalled screamed.

SMM observers had to urgently leave the area. None of them was hurt, damage also caused to the cars was not.

SMM discussed the incident with the leadership of the LNR, which recognized the seriousness of the conflict and stated that it will conduct the necessary checks and inform the SMM about their results.
