FBI: Clinton will not face criminal charges FBI Director James Komei told lawmakers that the Agency had not changed its opinion that Hillary Clinton should not be facing criminal charges after reviewing new messages.

"Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions which we expressed in July," Komei writes in a new letter to congressional Committee chairs.

Komei "dropped the bomb" on the presidential race last month when he sent a letter to Congress saying that the FBI found letters with secret information. Democrats were furious, and the Republican nominee Donald trump immediately emboldened.

Top Democrat of the Senate Committee on intelligence Dianne Feinstein condemned Komei "Today's letter makes the actions of the Director in troubled time," said Feinstein in a statement. "There is no doubt that he created a false impression about the nature of the request of the Agency."

She added: "the Ministry of justice should look at their procedures to prevent such actions, which could affect future elections.

Letter Komei quickly began developing the culmination concerning a newly open e-mail. "We've been through this as fast as we could," said a senior law enforcement official. Investigators were working "round the clock" to review the large volume of emails.

Thousands of new letters were mostly personal and duplicate what we have already seen, said law enforcement officers any explanation. The laptop, which was discovered with a large number of personal content is not relevant to the investigation, according to one source. The investigation against Clinton is over.
