Famous star Janet Jackson has confirmed to People magazine that she is indeed expecting her first child at the age of 50 years.

"We thank God for such a blessing," she said. The magazine published a photo of Jackson where she is dressed in all white and sporting a huge belly.

Recently it has been speculated that the singer and her husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam al Mana were expecting. But confirmation of this information was not. In April, Jackson announced that she decided to stop the tour for personal reasons.

"I think it's important that you first learned about this decision," she said in the video, which was posted on the social network Twitter at the time. "My husband and I are planning our family, so I am forced to cancel the tour."

She has kept the secret since then, but was seen recently in the store shopping for the baby.
