The American destroyer came under rocket attack near Yemen Two missiles were fired at U.S. military ship off the coast of Yemen on Sunday, but flew past, hitting the water, says a spokesperson for the Pentagon.

The missiles were fired from the territory controlled in war-torn Yemen, said captain Jeff Davis. The U.S. ship took "on Board defensive measures" and was not damaged, he said. The warship was in international waters more than 12 nautical miles (22 km) from shore, in the southern part of the red sea, to the North of Bab-El-Mandeb. The missiles were launched at intervals of 60 minutes, Davis said.

"We found out that the missiles were launched from the territory of the Houthi-controlled Yemen. The United States remains committed to ensuring freedom of navigation worldwide, and we will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of our ships ," said Davis.

USA stated that it reconsider its support of the Saudi coalition after the funeral in San airstrike was carried out. Killed at least 155 people, said local officials. Saudi coalition has previously rejected accusations that it was responsibility to for the attack, and said he would "immediately investigate" the incident.

Saudi coalition, with the participation of several Arab countries, launched a military campaign in Yemen in March 2015 after the Houthis - a Shia group supported by Iran - drove U.S.-backed government headed by President Abdu Rabbi Mansour Hadi. The crisis quickly escalated into a war that allowed al-Qaeda and ISIS to grow stronger amidst the chaos. During the conflict killed about 10 thousand of Yemenis and left millions in need of assistance, reported according to the United Nations.
