In USA police officer was charged with the murder of a black man In the United States, Oklahoma, a police officer Betty Shelby was charged with felony manslaughter in the first degree, said district attorney Steve Kunzweiler reporters on Thursday.

Shelby shot and killed 40-year-old black man Terrence Crutcher after his SUV stopped in the roadway last week.

"We reviewed the facts of the allegations. It is our responsibility to determine whether filing criminal charges are warranted in accordance with the law," said Kunzweiler. A warrant was issued for the arrest and was taken to her surrender, he said.

About excitation of criminal case against Shelby says that her "fear led her to unwise actions that led to the shooting." She is accused of "illegal and unjustified" shooting after Crutcher had not met its "legal obligations".

Lawyers for the family of Crutcher said they were "happy that the charges were filed" against the officer, and they will participate in "active pursuit" of this case, which will lead to punishment.

Lawyers also expressed gratitude to the police Department. "Today we thank the TPD, we are grateful to the police for providing information to the district attorney's office, and we are happy that charges were brought," said the lawyer, Damario Solomon-Simmons during press conference
