North Korea fired 3 ballistic missiles North Korea fired three ballistic missiles Monday morning, according to the joint chiefs of staff of South Korea.

The rockets were fired from areas Kwangju, in the province of North Hwanghae in the sea of Japan, the statement said the joint chiefs. It happened two weeks after Pyongyang tested a submarine-based missiles. This missile first entered a zone of identification of air defense of Japan.

Missile testing occurs in a potentially uncomfortable time for the only real ally of North Korea and China. China's leaders are currently at the summit in Hangzhou. At the G20 meeting, Chinese President XI Jinping told his South Korean counterparts on Monday that Beijing is against the deployment of THAAD missile defense system by the United States in South Korea, according to official Xinhua news Agency.

"Deployment of a missile defense system and its wrong interpretation is not conducive to strategic stability in the region and may intensify the controversy," said Park Geun-Hye. The goal of the THAAD system is to defend South Korea against a missile attack from the North. South Korea announced the deployment of a missile system in July, but it's not installed.
