The death toll from the earthquake in Italy has risen to 267 The death toll from the earthquake this week in Central Italy has risen to 267, the Agency for civil protection of the nation said Friday. After a 6.2-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday, the USGS recorded several aftershocks of magnitude ranging from 4.1 and 4.7.

A series of aftershocks frightened of the rescuers and the inhabitants of the cities who tried to find survivors after the massive earthquake which killed 250 people in Italy.

"People in a panic ran out on the road away from the buildings. We saw our camera was shaking and the reporters here, too, was sweating," said the producer of CNN's Margot Haddad. After a 6.2-magnitude earthquake Wednesday, which turned the city into ruins, the USGS recorded several aftershocks of magnitude ranging from 4.1 and 4.7.

Rescuers, in turn, continue to search for survivors under the rubble of buildings. Every minute counts. The girl who survived 17 hours under the rubble is on the mend, the Italian national news Agency ANSA.

After mostly of bodies recovered from the rubble, rescuers in Pescara del Tronto was overjoyed Wednesday evening when he heard the cries of the survivors. The girl, later identified as 8-year-old Georgia, was finally freed from the rubble. The body of her 10-year-old sister was next to her.
