NATO has tried to refute Russian "myths" about the Alliance
NATO says that the Russian Federation "spreading myths about the aggression of the Commonwealth" for this reason the organization tried to debunk them, for example, calling NATO's military operations outside of the Commonwealth not more threatening than placing Russian troops on Russian territory.
1st "myth" is based on the opinion that the Alliance has fulfilled its mission with the end of the cold war. For reviews of authors of the document, at the moment the world became much more dangerous, besides, largely because of Russia's actions, and this means the role of the Commonwealth in the world is more important than ever, reports RIA "news" referring to que Welt. According to the second "myth," NATO is seeking to encircle the Russian Federation. However, NATO is only involved in three operations outside the territory, members of the Alliance, and at the same time, Russia is " increasing its military capabilities on its Western borders ", thereby surrounding the allies of the bloc, experts underline. Examining the third " myth ", which States that NATO broke the existing consensus with Moscow, the authors of the document say that the situation is actually the opposite and battalions in the Baltic States and Poland do not have the ability to be seen as a " significant force ", in contrast of Russian troops deployed in Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova.

in the 4th "myth" in the paper are the statements of the Russian capital ABOUT the fact that the missile defense system is directed against Russia. The counter experts believe the fact that NATO had no way to stop Russian Intercontinental missiles, and the installation of the Commonwealth, in their vision, only serve to protect residents. Finally, the fifth " myth ", according to the authors of the document, is that NATO is preparing for war with Russia. Countries of the bloc do not seek confrontation with Moscow, says the Alliance, and all the actions, which Russia regards as a direct threat, for example, plans to deploy troops in Eastern Europe, calls less than a response to "changes in the security sphere," linked specifically to the actions of the Russian capital. NATO remains open to dialogue with Russia, But in the future, taking into account the current situation regarding security, "will focus on containing and providing protection," reads the document. Recall, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that NATO " has refused our proposal to implement the indivisibility of security: security is not able to be provided at the expense of the other. Instead they want to involve NATO more and more States, to detach them from Russia." He also drew attention to the fundamental difference between the actions of Russia, which is moving troops to its territory and the acts of the Commonwealth States, for example, States that transfer troops to the borders of Russia to the platform of other countries.
