"Star trek: Discovery" will feature female role American company CBS was expressed about the lack of diversity in the movie "Star trek: Discovery". Executive Director Bryan fuller has made it clear that his new series will not have this problem.

Fuller announced Wednesday that the new show will be different because the main role will have a female character and will respect the history of the franchise. Fuller also noted that a new series would have "absolutely" hilarious character.

This summer, "Star trek: Beyond" showed the Sulu John Cho is the first openly gay person in the history of the franchise. The new series will be shot in the "Prime" universe - and occur 10 years prior to the beginning of the five year mission of captain Kirk. "It gives us the opportunity to bridge the gap between the movie and original series," said fuller. He added that the show will differ from the movies stage.
