Michael Phelps made a splash at the Olympics in Rio 19-time Olympic champion Michael Phelps made a splash at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. 31-year-old swimmer, who retired from the sport after the 2012 Games, is back with a Shine in Rio.

American swimmer Michael Phelps to team USA won gold in the 4x100m relay freestyle at the Olympic games in 2016, held in Rio de Janeiro, and in the 19th time became the Olympic champion. Phelps has now won 23 medals overall, extending his record as the most successful Olympian of all time.

It was the second gold for the night for USA after Katie Ledecky won gold in the women's 400 meters.

19-year-old swimmer has overcome his own world record to win. He was ahead of his opponent for 5 seconds.

Katie Ledecky showed the howling the previous best result in the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships. Ledecky stunned the world in London in 2012, when she showed the best time in the 800 meters at the age of just 15 years. Now she has set 12 world records over the last four years.
