Sean Penn was charged with battery and vandalism on Friday for allegedly attacking a photographer and breaking his camera outside Brentwood Country Mart back in October.

The incident was caught on video and posted on TMZ, which helped the photogs case. Penn was officially charged with the two misdemeanor counts and faces 18 months behind bars if convicted.

His arraignment date is set for March 22, 2010 at Los Angeles County Superior Court.
