In Singapore they arrested 8 men charged with terrorist acts in Bangladesh In Singapore have arrested eight men charged with terrorist acts in Bangladesh. According to a statement from the Singapore government, the men were members of the group "Islamic state in Bangladesh," and planned to travel to Syria to join ISIS.

In Singapore there are a large number of people from South Asia working in the construction industry and the growth of extremism in the region is a growing cause for concern for the Singapore government.

In January, the city-state announced that they had arrested 27 Bangladeshi workers in accordance with the Law on internal security. It was the first major arrest of foreign terror suspects.

Twenty-six men were deported, accused of radicalization and support for militant Islam. The remaining suspect is serving a prison term in Singapore. The statement said that a significant quantity of extremist material was seized, including footage of children undergoing training in military camps, as well as graphic images and instructions detailing how to conduct a "silent killing."
