Head Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on ratification of the agreement between the government of Ukraine and the European atomic energy community on cooperation and associated membership of Ukraine in the program of research and training, Euratom.

the press service of Poroshenko said that the entry into force of the Treaty will ensure the integration of Ukraine into the European scientific community, to strengthen international scientific and technical cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. The head of the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych first claimed that the acquisition of Ukraine's associate member status opens the way for the participation of Ukrainian research institutions in promising projects in the field of nuclear energy, which will help implement the state nuclear safety standards of the EU. In her expressions, Ukraine's participation in this program provides a financial contribution of the country program budget. On inaccurate calculations, the total contribution for the period from 2016 to 2018 will be approximately 312 thousand Euros. The European side, taking into account the current austerity mode of public money in Ukraine, offers a discount on the contribution of Ukraine in the amount of 95% for the entire period of the program until 2018 with the possibility of prolongation of the contract until 2020.
