The US and Japan will maintain a "relationship of trust" Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that he held a "very Frank conversation" on Thursday with the newly elected President of the United States Donald trump. They met in new York during the "unofficial" visit, Abe told reporters that trump had not yet occupied the presidential chair.

Abe stressed that he left, feeling that the US and Japan will be able to maintain a "relationship of trust" with trump as President. The Japanese government has released a few photos of trump and Abe, some of which can be seen Jared Kushner, Ivanka trump and retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn. It is not known what role these three played in the meeting.

"Japan-America is the axis of diplomacy and security of Japan. The Alliance becomes alive only when there is trust between us." - said Abe. "Meeting with trump, Abe wants to show the world that the United States and Japan continue to stand side by side" - said the Director of Asian studies at Japan's Jeffrey Kingston.

Abe declined to say if they discussed the question about the defense or discussed their differences over trade agreements the TRANS-Pacific partnership (TPP), but stressed that he "is convinced that trump is a leader that I can be sure. ""I passed their various opinions on various issues, but as he entered the office, I would like to refrain from details," said Abe.
