San Antonio COP killer apologized to the family of the deceased The man is a suspect in the murder of a police detective in San Antonio decided to apologize to the family of the deceased officer.

31-year-old Otis Tyrone McCain was arrested Monday during a shooting detective Benjamin Marconi, who worked in law enforcement. 50-year-old Marconi was shot at close range. After police released photos of the suspect, his car, and asked the public for help.

McCain was arrested and taken into custody. Reporters asked him why he was upset. "I'm not allowed to see my son," replied McCain. When asked if he had anything to say to the family of Marconi, he said, "I'm sorry".

The shooting occurred a few minutes before noon on Sunday. Marconi stopped the driver at a South side police station. He returned to his patrol car to issue the citation. The driver approached the side window of the patrol car and shot the officer in the head, said the police chief of San Antonio William McManus. Then the man walked over to the open window and shot the COP a second time. After the shooting, the man returned to his car and left.

McCain was arrested by special forces group during a trip with a woman and 2-year-old child in the car on Monday, said McManus. Well-wishers formed a makeshift memorial with flowers, balloons and candles in front of the headquarters of police of San Antonio.
