Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama will visit the United States to confer with President-elect Donald trump after his inauguration, he told reporters on Wednesday.

"I think that the US has some problems, so I will come to see the new President," said the Dalai Lama at the end of his four-day visit to Mongolia. Speaking to reporters in Ulan Bator, the Dalai Lama said that he believes the United States is the leading country in the "free world".

He said he was not concerned about trump's rhetoric during the campaign. "I sometimes feel during the election, the candidate has more freedom than he lets on," he said, adding that after coming to power, all presidents have to work with "reality". In September the Dalai Lama portrayed in the video, trump, in which he imitated his hairstyle and mannerisms.

A potential meeting, most likely, angered the Chinese government, which has previously expressed its disapproval of the meeting of the Dalai Lama with world leaders.
