Nevada police officer shot and killed high school student Nevada police officer shot and killed high school student who threatened other students with a knife. The young man is in critical condition.

The chief of police Reno Jason Soto confirmed at a press conference Wednesday evening that the officer shot and killed a 14-year-old boy after he did not obey commands of the officer during the confrontation. Soto said the officer Renaud arrived in high school about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. He found that the student was armed with a knife and threatened other students. Soto said that no one was hurt. He refused to answer any questions.

Officials of the school district wash Williams said previously that the student who was shot dead 16 years. They said that classes in high school will continue in accordance with the schedule on Thursday. The incident occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. about the middle of the campus, during lunch break, on the street, reports CBS affiliate KTVN.

Officials said that police district, wash Williams responded to the altercation and gave verbal commands. They said 14-year-old boy did not obey commands and the officer shot him with his service weapon. Authorities reported that the parents of the student have been notified and he was taken to hospital where he is in critical condition.

No other students or staff were injured, and the officer who was involved in the shooting, will be sent on paid administrative leave until investigation of all circumstances.
