Ash Carter visits Afghanistan The Minister of defense ash Carter made an announced visit to Afghanistan on Friday, a journey that takes place against the background of major issues on the future of America.

Carter is configured to meet the President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani at the presidential Palace in Kabul, he will meet with American military commanders and thank the troops at Bagram air base. The Obama administration originally intended to remove almost all U.S. troops from the country before leaving office. But faced with the activity of the Taliban, the emergence of the local branch of ISIS and the continued presence of al-Qaeda terrorists, Obama revised the plan and in the end chose to manually present the matter to his successor. It is unclear, however, how the administration trump will guide policy in Afghanistan.

Currently in Afghanistan there are 9 thousand 800 us troops. The commander of the international coalition, U.S. General John Nicholson told reporters that the number of us forces will be reduced to 8450 by 2017. There are also several additional international troops participating in the NATO mission aimed at training and advising Afghan forces in their fight against terrorist groups.
