On the market North of Mexico city bombings The explosions took place at the market North of Mexico city, killing at least 29 people. 72 people were injured, said Erubiel Avila, the Governor of the state of Mexico.

Three children are expected to be transferred to a hospital in Galveston, Texas for treatment of burns which they received after the explosion in Tultepec, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) North of Mexico city. The city is well known for its fireworks industry and a huge market for the sale of pyrotechnic materials. The market was especially crowded because of the approaching Christmas holidays.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown, but Tultepec is considered one of the safest markets in the region. The video shows flashes of fire, dense smoke and exploding fireworks. People were running, trying to save his life. Jose Luis Tolentino said he was walking when he heard a loud noise. Some of the people who tried to escape fell and jostled each other. He added that the market is the size of a football stadium. The district is heavily populated, and the witnesses from the surrounding neighborhoods saw a huge plume of smoke billowing into the sky.

Video from the red cross of Mexico revealed the devastation and panic as people fled from the market. These types of accidents occur frequently in Mexico, especially in the end of the year and during religious holidays, according to the report of the National pedagogical University. In 2005, a large explosion killed many people and caused a great deal in the same market fireworks.
