The heir to the Samsung Empire is a suspect in a corruption scandal Prosecutors called heir to the Empire Samsung a suspect in a massive corruption scandal. Vice-Chairman of Samsung Lee Jae-Yong, who is expected to succeed his ailing father on top of the largest conglomerate of the country, was summoned for questioning on suspicion of bribery, said Wednesday in the office of the Prosecutor.

Lee and other leading business leaders in South Korea are faced with the question of a donation the company made to two funds managed by the woman at the center of the widening scandal. Woman, Choi sun-SIL, was a confidant of South Korean President Park Geun-Hye, who came under impeachment last month.

Prosecutors say the donation was given in exchange for political favors. Samsung (SSNLF) has refused to comment on the statement that there is now a suspect in the investigation of the scandal.

During a public meeting with legislators last month, Lee denied any wrongdoing. He said that Pak is not directly asked for his support to Choi, and that he did not know about the payments from Samsung for them.
