The Syrian regime retook the ancient city of Palmyra Syrian government troops recaptured the town of Palmyra and the surrounding areas from ISIS, in accordance with the General leadership of the country, cited by State news Agency SANA.

The Syrian troops recaptured the town from ISIS in March last year, after he was captured in may last year when ISIS started to demolish ancient ruins in the city.

Syrian rebel leaders met in Geneva for peace talks with the government. Nasser al-Hariri, member of the Syrian coalition, said that the struggle for Palmyra was like a cartoon.
"This is the second time we have seen the transfer of Palmyra, and it is obviously used for political reasons," said al-Hariri in a press statement on Thursday. "If we want to follow the game Assad and Palmyra, it will be like watching Tom and Jerry."
